Although born and raised in Phoenix, Arizona, Evaline is the daughter of a first generation immigrant from New Zealand. In addition to her work as an early childhood educator, Evaline is also working to attain her B.S. in Sociology at Arizona State University. She is currently preparing to defend her honors thesis at Barrett, the Honors College.

Both in her personal life and current research, Evaline is fascinated with the role rituals play in mitigating traumatic stress and fostering resilience. In her free time, Evaline enjoys reading, drawing, and live music.
